Look for BlocPower at the Smart Cities NYC’17 conference this week. Don’t miss our CEO, Donnel Baird, on the “Power to the People” panel in Duggal I at 3:30pm on Thursday, May 4. And make sure to stop by and say hi to us at the Urbantech NYC booth inside the Duggal Greenhouse (10-11am on Thursday, May 4 and 12-1pm on Friday, May 5).
“Power to the People” panel description: Renewable energy replaces conventional fuels in at least four distinct areas: electricity generation, air and water heating/cooling, motor fuels, and off-grid energy services. This panel makes a case for examining energy transition in smart cities as a reconfiguration of our current economic, environmental, and social practices. Shifting toward smart grid applications, green energy, and low-carbon economy is supposed to play a critical role in addressing some of the most prominent issues facing the world today.
Join the discussion to explore how this transition may effect issues as diverse as climate change, health indicators, and energy security.
